Synopsis: The DWP has updated its State Pension leaflets.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has updated its State Pension leaflets, ‘Your State Pension statement explained’. The leaflets are aimed at helping people understand the information in their State Pension statement.
- DWP040for men born on or before 5 April 1951 and women born on or before 5 April 1953
- DWP040Bfor men born on or after 6 April 1951 and women born on or after 6 April 1953.
The difference is based upon those individuals that will be attaining their SPA under the current rules or the new Single-tier rules and the latter booklet has a really easy to read explanation as to the new Single-tier State Pension. This will certainly help adviser to explain to clients the main aspects of the new rules.
