SELF-ASSESSMENT
Synopsis: A reminder that clients have one month to file their self-assessment return online to avoid facing penalties.

With the Christmas break over, as we head into New Year celebrations, let’s not forget that the self-assessment online filing deadline is fast approaching.
To make things easier clients should have their online activation code to hand, together with details of their income and expenditure.
Those who have not filed online before will need to request an online activation code which must be activated within 28 days of the date shown on the letter – the letter itself can take up to 10 days to arrive.
In cases where the activation code has been lost, it is possible to request a replacement and in most cases this will be issued within 7 days.

Filing online has become much easier than ever before. However, clients still need to ensure they have obtained the relevant information before they can begin and, in some cases, this can take a while to arrive – with this in mind a month really isn’t that long!
